about
This single is the "Nice" single - a single containing variations of my "Nice" song.
Inspired by nearly reaching my number-of-songs-on-my-next-album goal, I produced all night long and came out with "Nice_First Night Mix." It's the most minimal in nature and, indeed, has a more minimal, tribal house feeling to it.
Feeling "Nice_First Night Mix" was perhaps a bit too dark for some occasions, I went ahead and produced "Nice_Complete Mix" the following day. It comes complete with a minimalist melody and harmonic ambience to brighten up the experience.
Wanting more variation in an otherwise minimal melody sometimes in life, I produced "Nice_Spice Mix" the following night. It's a lovely variation, adding a bit of spicy, goa-like arpeggiation to what is consequentially somewhat of a progressive psytrance tune.
Can't have a spice mix without a sugar mix, and thus was born "Nice_Sugar Mix" the next evening...okay, late evening. Gotta love this happy hardcore sounding mix - definitely feel the sugar rush! ^_^
For the music theory savvy amongst you, these pieces are structured around the tom arpeggios, which themselves are all diatonic harmonies, yea though they transpose through the valley of an octatonic scale. Very..."nice"...indeed! ^_^
